patric johansson

love the eclecticism of his work! when designers use found objects, it creates a sense of nostalgia and i love how there can always be a surprise element - something that doesn't belong, but modernizing it in a visually beautiful way. check out more here!

louisa grey

so for this week's IDES project, we need to find different fireplaces and then diagram them to show the flue, damper, firebox, and hearth. and as i was searching for photos of different fireplaces, came across louisa grey. the muted colors just accentuate her pops of color! it seems so incredibly thoughtful.

barefoot contessa

i am a huge advocate for food network shows! my absolute favorite would be barefoot contessa...ina garten. and though i'm not nearly as talented as her, her cooking & baking totally inspires and teaches me everytime i watch her show. there's something so elegant yet simple about her! and as soon as i found this interview i knew there was an underlying reason i enjoyed watching her show. =)

Another website i LOVE is design*sponge - they will post do-it-yourself projects that readers send them...and with all these posts, I've been able to train my eye to look at pieces of furniture in new ways. One of the chairs that is SO me. =)

A little about me...

I love reading design blogs - if you look at my Reader, the theme of my subscriptions would be interior design. I've recently been able to spend more time on pursuing a potential career in interior design, but at the moment I'm working with a small non-profit doing event planning.

This blog serves as my personal folio to my favorite designers and as my source of inspirational pieces.

A little explanation on the name: it's easy for me to fall in love with good design, and I've grown to appreciate the beauty in places and the creativity from people. And if you know me, you'll know my favorite color is "jaune," which means yellow in French! =) I've also been blessed to travel and live in Europe, namely Paris! and I can't wait to go back.
